Snood History 101:

Snoods date back to the medieval era, although versions were worn even before then. They were very popular during the Renaissance. They made a big come back in the 1940's during the second world war.

How to Wear a Snood:

Snoods are simple to wear. The most common way to wear a snood in the 1940's (the Rosie the Riveter days) was pinned at the crown of the head and covering the rest of the hair. The top of the hair might be rolled up and back or worn in pincurls. It was a simple, practical style that kept the hair in place while on the factory floor. In the evenings, a flower could be added, making it a suitable hairstyle for an evening out. Snoods are great for bad hair days. They are great for days when you don't have much time to worry about your hair. Just put on a snood, clip on a flower, and you are good to go.
